From modest beginnings in 1945, Arthur Porter established the Porter name in the Waikato with his contracting business. Through hard work and foresight into the market, the business steadily developed and today is an icon in the construction equipment industry.

The Porter Group network is the most densely concentrated service network in the New Zealand construction equipment industry with premises and facilities in 26 centres nationwide. A key feature of the Porter Group network is that all outlets are owned and managed by Porter Group, and each customer is able to deal directly with a Porter Group employee.
